Who is TruEmotion? 

  TruEmotion is a dynamic R&B duo who united in 2009, unlocking the doors to a phenomenal musical legacy. MzTru, fueled by an unrelenting vision, grew up on Detroit's west side. 

Emotion, driven by an unshakeable purpose, was born and raised on the city's east side. 

Their lives converged through Emotion's cousin, who lived with Tru while dating her goddaughter.

Though they were unaware of the incredible journey ahead, their meeting was unmistakably a divine intervention. 

  With music deeply rooted in their family traditions, their partnership was destined for success. MzTru's impressive educational credentials include graduating from Northwestern High School and Fisk University in Nashville, Tennessee. Emotion graduated from Kettering High School with honors and college credits. Emotion noticed his talent when participating within talent shows in high school and it didn’t stop there! Emotion also grew up with a love for instruments, in which he self taught himself to play the piano and keyboard whereas Tru always had the passion since her childhood to write and tell stories. While her father played the guitar to her spoken words while she hung on to every string of her fathers melody from his guitar, when they met not knowing love was sure to come they instantly bonded through music.What sparks the creative passion behind TruEmotion music, a powerful expression of love and compassion that explores vulnerable situations, discusses trauma and pain, and relates life experiences that have hurt, while seeking spiritual healing and peace, guiding listeners on a meaningful personal journey through life and connecting with fans in their own situations and speaking directly to their hearts, offering hope through life's journey and demonstrating strength and encouragement and inspiration and understanding Tru Emotions.Through fifteen years of love, heartache, blessings, downfalls, and life experiences, TruEmotion have blossomed into a shining testament to eternal love, with their unbreakable bond continuing to uplift and inspire. Having weathered near-death experiences, heartache from others and each other, as well as peaks and valleys in their music career, TruEmotion trusted in God and each other, allowing grace and mercy to triumph. As they've grown and strengthened each other, TruEmotion yearn to share these memories with the world, recognizing that God ordained this journey.
