New Gospel Rap Artist Truth Advocate is on move

Thursday, June 02, 2011

Truth’s ambition is to reach today’s youth through his music and teach them how to live a better, longer, healthier life in Jesus. He also reaches out to the older generation that does not particularly like rap music by saying; “If you listen to the message that’s behind the music, you’ll learn to love this kind of rap”.

Truth, A.K.A. Bro. Chucky, not only raps, but he’s also the musician at his church, Metro Life Chapel in Lauderhill, Fla. Truth has not given up hope that his music will one day reach the masses. But he confidently says to everyone; “I bet you can’t listen just once”.

Some of his songs are airing on Internet Radio. They include I Give It To You, Christ Lives In Me.

Bio

In today's society we constantly hear and read about precocious individuals that capture the hearts and minds of many. Those that are so mature, yet so young. Accomplishing feats that seem to elude the driven at heart, but fall into the laps of the chosen. Truth Advocate belongs in the discussion of such individuals. His ability to compose music and write songs consistently captures the attention of those willing to lend an ear. And it is that gifted sound that compels people of all ages to want to hear more.

As a child playing in the neighborhood streets of Fort Pierce, Florida, Truth, born Venus Stinson Jr., knew early on that he was not like the other children. Stinson began playing piano at the tender age of 8 years old. The most amazing part is that he never even took lessons. "It's harder to understand than it is to explain". One night I just started playing. If I hear a song, I can play it. God gave me a gift", says Stinson. By the age of 9, Venus was in concert with world renown gospel recording legends, The Williams Brothers. At this point, Venus and his family group, God's New Creation, began travelling throughout Florida, performing at various churches and other venues. Despite the groups growing popularity, Venus was more focused on sports. Because of this, he did not take his gift serious until he was 20. But by this time, Venus, A.K.A. Bishop, had become a Hip-Hop rap artist.

Venus has recorded multiple Christian rap albums. He joined forces with his best friend, Aaron West Sr., and formed the group Thug 4 Christ. The duo was immediately embraced by the community. They performed at many events and were interviewed on multiple radio talk shows, in addition to their music airing on commercial radio. But the group was dealt a major setback when Aaron was killed in a work related accident. This was motivation for Venus to continue spreading the Gospel of Jesus, with the message of, "salvation is needed now, because no one knows when their time will come". He then recruited four young men in his church and continued the T.H.U.G. (True Holy Unified Gentlemen) movement. Venus and the young men recorded their debut album, "Covered Under The Blood", and it was an instant hit in the South Florida area. The group traveled throughout the region ministering in song and selling cds. The music was all original, produced and recorded by Venus, now known as Truth Advocate, and all lyrics were written by the respective members. When asked about the instant success of the group, Truth responded by saying, "It was crazy. Every where we went people would request that we do certain songs. They would be dancing in the aisles. I can even recall times when I would be shopping with my wife and people would be walking by yelling out the group name or would start singing one of the songs. It was different".

As a solo artist and Minister, Truth has recorded two albums, "I Give It To You" and "In His Image", which keeps listeners asking for more. A local newspaper, The Westside Gazette, wrote an article about Truth titled, "Truth Advocate on the move", to spotlight this music artist on the rise. Truth's music is intimate, testimonial, and will cause you to move to the rhythm of the beat without you even realizing it. All of his music is self-produced, mixed, and mastered. He has collaborated with his wife, Deanna, on several songs, including fan favorites, "My Piece Of Heaven" and "The Love Song", a ballad dedicated to each other illustrating love between a Christian husband and wife. Many of Truth's songs have been played on internet radio, with the majority of the spins reserved to his hit single, "I Give It To You". "Things seem to be going ok, but this is just the beginning", noted Truth.

"When I look back and think about that 9 year old kid playing the piano, I knew I loved music then", says Truth. "I just didn't realize that music was what I wanted to do for the rest of my life until I was older and wiser". With wisdom, originality, and meticulous productivity, Truth has captivated the hearts of those drawn to his distinct sound. And with his God given gift coupled with consistency, he will be able to meet the demand of such gift for a very long time.
