"Widow7 - Therapy Review"

There is a reasonable chance you may not have heard of a little rock band from Des Moines, Iowa, Widow 7. But after one listens to their latest track, this is a band you want to set your sights on this year. Having released a few singles currently, this multi-genre rock band is quickly turning heads, and their latest single, "Therapy," which dropped February 26th, is causing quite a ripple within the scene.

"Therapy" shows change can come almost unexpectedly since their last release, "Crooked Frames" in 2020. Feeling a lot more free and melodic within the framework of their signature dynamic sound, It seems that Widow 7 is testing the waters with new instrumental and vocal avenues, and sounds impressively confident in doing so. This comes as no surprise, as Widow 7 has always put originality and poise first before keeping up with the music scene. The band had this to say about their latest release.

“Therapy” is about perspective at the beginning of the end of a toxic relationship scenario. From the point of it starting to feel monotonous to the realization of calling it quits, and about how the whole process can turn you into a different person by the end of it. “For better or for worse” - Scene Daddy

"Dispatches from the Field"

Charged with the tall task of hitting the stage first for one of the most anticipated festivals of the season, local crew done good Widow 7 skipped the subtleties and quickly got to the business bringing fans together. Among the band’s more convincing stanzas included the live translation of their latest track “Hopeless,” – an energized cut that came with the compelling need to “bang your fucking head” – per the call of the band’s frontman, Mark Leon.

Taking to the crowd to get better acquainted, Leon managed to corral the kind of energy that isn’t typical of the first band out the gate with an enthusiastic 30-minute set that had familiar pangs of genre giants like Sevendust. - Knotfest.com

"Widow7 at Wooly's Review"

Next up, Widow 7! Their work ethic is unparalleled in the scene. The collective experience these guys have rivals long-established national bands. They've been out doing the festival circuit and I have never watched them play. I know that the true live experience in an intimate venue like Wooly's was the best way to see a new band.

Damn, do they know how to work the crowd! The songs are there, the kids knew the words as the movement was bordering on hazardous. The dance floor was becoming a trampoline from the fans' jumping! Even an arms-crossed older guy next to me said: "They're really good live!"

New album coming soon! - Forrest Lonefight
