"Golden Road Radio Hour at the General Gomez"

Be part of a live broadcast. with the Golden Road Radio Hour and Auburn Community Television (ACTV 20).

The Golden Road Radio Hour is a weekly two-hour show focusing on the intersection of the arts and culture, health, the environment, peace and justice, and science and technology.

It features dozens of individuals and organizations from the Gold Country and beyond, sharing inspiring and educational content to listeners from around the world.

The show is a fastmoving variety of presenters, subjects and styles of content. One minute you will be listening to a musical performance, the next you might be listening to valuable holistic health tips you can do at home.

Every show will present a different array of material.

The founder and executive director of the show is Michael DiMartino. DiMartino is a producer, musician, educator and interfaith minister who endeavors to use the arts and media to inspire and enlighten.

“Even though I am the producer, this show is an incredible collaboration between dozens of people and organizations, all dedicated to enriching the human experience,” he said.

DiMartino moved to the Nevada County area four years ago from Santa Cruz. There he worked for several years for the University of California Theater Arts Department and produced several events and shows. These range from a five-day festival/ conference at the Mayan Pyramids of Mexico in 2012 to a millennial world music festival and tour in Egypt in 1999.

"Everything I do is service to humanity by creating events that reflect major paradigm shifts,” he said. “I was attracted to this area of California by the diversity of people and cultures, the amazing cutting edge artists and musicians and the uplifting effects of the gold and quartz filled geology. Not to mention Lake Tahoe, the national forest and the Yuba River. After living here for two years, I read a quote from Edgar Cayce, the world renown psychic, who said that ‘Nevada City would be a city of golden light attracting many individuals who would come here as a launch pad for a new paradigm.’” In August the Golden Road had three live audience debut shows at the historic Nevada Theater. Each show was audio broadcast and the last show was live streamed globally.

Each show had a dozen presenters and two featured bands. These included Ma Muse, Izzy Tooinski, Brendan Philips, the World Beatnix, the Rayos, Art Rock Ensemble, Paul Ong and Gary Parks & Eva.

DiMartino will be producing a series of live audience shows on a monthly basis in various communities in the Gold Country.

The show is available online weekly at Golden-RoadRadioHour.com and through podcast. It is also available locally every Sunday from 6-8 p.m. in Sacramento on KUBU 96.5 radio and Nevada County intermittently (see website for schedule) on KVMR 89.5 community radio.

The shows are videotaped and also shown on public access television NCTV channel 17 in Nevada County, and Access Sacramento channel 17 in Sacramento County and Tahoe Truckee channel 6 community television.

DiMarino added that they want to give a microphone to the world.

“There is enough bad news in the world. We are committed to alternatives, ideas and solutions,” he said. “Come share your skill and knowledge and get involved.”

Bio

Original dance music based on traditional rhythms from around the world.
No passport is required to embark on an exotic musical journey around
the world. This Nevada City, Ca. local ensemble pioneers a groundbreaking sound based on
traditional rhythms from Africa, Brazil, Egypt and the Caribbean. The
highly dance-able, spiritual amalgamation materializes from a hypnotic
symbiosis of percussive rhythms, bass vibrations and melodies carried on
the wings of guitar, sax and flute. Now with the addition of Todd
Gardner on guitar and Jim Wendt on keyboards (Saints of Circumstance) a
jazzy, psychedelic, Grateful Dead influence has been injected into the
mix.
